Justin Taylor began his journey within the criminal justice system while obtaining a Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of South Alabama. During his time at the University of South Alabama, Justin was a member of the Alpha Chi and Golden Key Honor Societies. Justin was also awarded the Al Roemer Memorial Award for Excellence in Criminal Justice.  He graduated from the University of South Alabama Magna Cum Laude.

After graduation, Justin accepted a position as a felony probation officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections.  During this time, Justin learned the ins and outs of the felony probation process.  This time allowed Justin to participate in numerous revocation hearings.

Justin left the Georgia Department of Corrections to attend The University of Mississippi School of Law.  At the University of Mississippi, Justin completed internships with the District Attorney’s Office Seventeenth Circuit Court of Mississippi and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi.  These internships allowed Justin to participate in pre-trial motion practice and conduct misdemeanor DUI cases under the third year practice program.  Justin also worked with the Criminal Appeals Clinic in preparing an appellate brief.  Justin was also selected as one of six students chosen in his class to conduct oral arguments before the Mississippi Court of Appeals.  In May 2010, Justin was awarded a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law.  He was also awarded a criminal law certificate with honors for his exceptional work in the study of criminal law.

Upon graduation from The University of Mississippi, Justin chose an unconventional route to better prepare himself for the practice of law.  Justin accepted a position as a police officer with the City of Leeds, Alabama.  During his time with the city of Leeds, Justin received various law enforcement training, which included certification in the use of the Dräger Alcotest 7110 MKIII, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course, and Patrol Officers Response to Street Drugs.  Justin also received training as a crime scene investigator.  Working as a police officer allowed Justin to become better equipped to handle the difficult challenges faced by individuals charged with a criminal offense.

Justin is admitted to the practice of law in the State of Alabama.
